Information collected automatically
When you browse the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, language, approximate location (country or region), pages viewed, referring website, and how you interact with the Site. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies" below).
How we use your information
- to process, pack, ship and track your orders, and to send order and shipping confirmations;
- to handle returns, refunds and customer service questions;
- to detect and prevent fraud and keep the Site secure;
- to understand how the Site is used so we can improve it;
- to send marketing emails, only if you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email;
- to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the shop, and only as needed for them to do their job:
- Shopify, which hosts our store and checkout. See Shopify's Privacy Policy.
- Payment processors (such as Shopify Payments, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Shop Pay), to process your payment.
- Shipping carriers (such as Canada Post, UPS or USPS), to deliver your order.
- Email and analytics tools, to send emails you asked for and to measure Site traffic.
- Advertising partners (such as Meta, TikTok or Google), if you have allowed marketing cookies, to measure and show ads.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:
- Essential cookies that make the cart, checkout and login work;
- Preference cookies that remember settings such as your language and currency;
- Analytics and marketing cookies that help us understand Site usage and measure ads. Where required, we ask for your consent before using these.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop the cart and checkout from working. For more on the cookies Shopify uses, see Shopify's cookie policy.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed to provide our services and meet tax and accounting requirements (generally 7 years in Canada). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete your information;
- withdraw consent to marketing at any time;
- object to or restrict certain uses, or receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
- opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising (for residents of California and other U.S. states with similar laws).
To make a request, email support@crinklet.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will reply within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your local privacy authority.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, and payments are processed over encrypted connections by our payment providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Purchases should be made by an adult. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
